Contest Moderators: [Linderel] and [Artsieladie].

1. NO STEALING PHOTOS! Images must be created by Elftowners and posted here by the original artist. Which means, no matter how much you might like a particular image on somebody's house, you are not allowed to add it here. This includes random images from the net too. MAKE YOUR OWN DARN IMAGES, DON'T STEAL THEM AND TRY TO CLAIM THEM AS YOUR OWN! That makes us angry, very angry indeed. Please put forth your best effort and the best quality, i.e. no fuzzy or blurry photographs where we can't actually see what's happening. Any such entry will be removed. Also, scan your images if at all possible. Your work should also be new for this contest, and shouldn't have been submitted to any contests previously.
Last but not least, it can happen an photograph has the same title as another one; this is not against the rules as long as the artists' names are clear.

2. EACH MEMBER MAY SUBMIT ONE (1) ENTRY.

3. ALL IMAGES MUST BE UPLOADED TO ELFTOWN!
You may upload directly to a wiki page using the 'Upload a file' button located in the right hand column on every wiki page. This enables you to enter images at their full size.

Another option is to use the feature 'Upload a folder of images' that is shown on your house.
This feature allows you to upload one, multiple images or zip-files in their original size to a wikipage.
<URL:upload_zip.html>
Once you click this link you can follow the instructions.

See also uploading images.

4. SUBJECT MATTER:
a) Images that depict graphic violence, pornography or other disturbing actions will not be accepted. Only images that fit the theme will be allowed.
b) Please stay loyal to the [#theme]!

5. MEDIUMS: The mediums allowed are photography, and photo manipulation. But please make sure that all material used for the manipulation is your own. Otherwise it will be removed for copyright infringement.

6.PROOF PHOTO:
To enter this contest you have to submit a new photo combined with a proof photo with a shoe taken during the same photoshoot.
This has two reasons:
- The proof photo shows that the picture is yours.
- The pictures don't have to be new, but you will need to take a proof photo of the items in your photo to prove it's yours. So if you can't take a proof photo, you can't use it, sorry.

The proof photo should be the person/thing from your photo with: a shoe.

Theme and deadline

What will we be expecting?
The theme is: Year of the (earth) Ox (Read more: Ox (zodiac))

Deadline: Closed.

Note:
Ten photographs will be chosen by the Council and the Assembly among all those presented. Elftown members will choose the two winners through a Main Street poll. If there are only twenty, or less, entries, they will all go to the public poll.

Please Note: Asking people to vote for you is against the rules. Although you may advertise the Main Street Poll in your mood, diary, or house, it is against Elftown Official Competition rules to directly ask people to vote for you or influence people to vote for you through use of public wikis, diary entries, messages, in your mood, etc.

The winners will receive the colored badge and the participants will receive the green version of it:

2008-12-19 [Xuan.]: why is the deadline in January if new year isn't until February?

2008-12-19 [Linderel]: It's January 26th this time.

2008-12-19 [Xuan.]: hm. Guess we are doing the lion dance and celebration late this year. :[

2009-01-13 [Xuan.]: How am i supposed to take New Year Pictures if the deadline is the 21st? :[  I will still share the festival pictures I take with anyone who would like. That includes the lion dance, the cultural dresses and the new year costumes.

2009-01-13 [Artsieladie]: Actually, you make a very good point, since with our own New Year, we can't take photos before the New Year's celebrations, of course. Now that I think about it, when the Chinese New Year is over, the animal that has become the symbol, is the symbol for the entire year. :P
